It was first published in January 2002 with version 1.0. .NET Framework, and is the successor to Microsoft’s Active Server Pages (ASP) technology. ASP.NET is built on the Common Language Runtime (CLR), allowing programmers to write ASP.NET code using any supported .NET language.
Model-View-Controller (MVC) is an architectural pattern that separates an application into three main components: the model, view, and controller. ASP.NET MVC framework provides an alternative to the ASP.NET Web Forms pattern for creating Web applications. ASP.NET MVC framework is a lightweight, highly tested presentation framework that (as with web form-based applications) is integrated with existing ASP.NET features, such as master pages and membership-based authentication.
Silverlight technology is designed for the preparation and presentation of modern and interactive multimedia applications and content. The technology is characterized by simplicity of construction and combination of different content.
